* Lushous Lime, Bountiful Bergamot *

So the candle of the week is a Lime and Bergamot dome candle for those magical times when my head needs clearing of stressy work thoughts, and to help me think of how to sort out my New Years Resolutions or start reading a new book by the light of this zingy candle...

***

Here is a step by step guide of how I made it (SO simple) you should try it!!

You will need:
1 saucepan (that you dont really care about)
1 other saucepan (larger than the first)
Tiny bit of blue tack
Wax pellets (as little or as much as you like)
A Candle Mould (I am using a dome)
Candle Colour dye chips (blue and yellow)
Wick string
A little rod / stick
Essential oil burning oil (lime, bergamot)

Step 1
Measure out double the amount of little wax pellets into the mould then put them in the smaller saucepan. Put very hot water on a medium heat within the larger pan and place the smaller saucepan inside the larger one so that the wax will melt from the boiling steam beneath the pan (NEVER PUT IT OVER DIRECT HEAT TO MELT).

Step 2
Whilst waiting for the wax to melt - put the wick string through the hole at the bottom of the mould leaving about 2 inches (this can be trimmed at the end) pull it through and tie the long end to the little rod to keep the wick taut and centralised...the little hole where the top wick comes through should be covered with a little blue tack to stop any hot wax leaking out when you pour it in...

Step 3
Once the wax has totally melted - add a couple of mini dye chips (colour is up to you - one tiny cip goes a long way so I added a little dark blue one and a couple of little yellow ones to make a strong green colour - I was going for lime but it turned out a jade colour - I think I put slightly too much blue in...)
Then take a pipet and add the essential oils couple of drops of each flavour (I added about 6 drops of lime and 6 drops of bergamot...) you add as much or as little as you wish.
Stir again (with a spoon you dont care about getting waxy).

Step 4
Once everything is stirred and mixed and melted, take the hot wax off the heat and carefully pour it into the mould, should hopefully be 2cm gap from the top where the rod is resting.
Carefully put the whole thing on a flat bit of fridge over night to cool entirely.

Step 5
The next day the dome mould should come apart and you can tease the candle out with gentle knocking and scoring round the edge with a blunt knife.
Once out - trim wicks accordingly and remove from the rod.
Decorating time!!!
There are actually loads of things you can find in craft shops to decorate candles with - but I used these little gold stickery things that you have to remove before burning - but they make great gifts before hand...

Happy Wishing!!! xxx

My sister Helena loves cupcakes, kittens and soft pink shades within her house - so I created this candle for her to relax with xx

* Christmas Hues *

Here was a Christmas candle I made for my sister Rosie - it was to help her create warmth in her living room - which has accents of orange and gold sunsets (a theme in her house) xx

Fresh for 2013!

Happy New Year Candle Lovers!!
2013 will be my year of luck - so I have decided to create a "luck candle" for those times I want to make wishes come true and whisper them into the night...

Lime and Bergamot flavours will be the scent - to help me along with those wishes, these flavours invigorate my mind to help the ideas flow...
